SCHEDULE:

Support & Container: Bones & Ligaments
with Lisa Clark & Amy Matthews; assisted by Julee Snyder
January 20-22 & April 21-23
, 2017
at The Dallas Yoga Center, Dallas, TX
This course explores the clarity, balance and integration of the bones, joints and ligaments.  Bones give structure, joints offer movement possibilites, and the ligaments provide specificity, clarity and efficiency for the alignment and movement of the bones.  When all three are embodied, they offer support, help to balance, and create stability and flexibility in our movement.

Contents & Relationships: Organs & Connective Tissues
with Lisa Clark & Amy Matthews; assisted by Julee Snyder
August 4-6 & November 10-12, 2017

at The Dallas Yoga Center, Dallas, TX
This course explores how our experience changes when we shift our attention to contents of the body.  Organs, fascia and other types of connective tissue all are part of our internal environment, and give us new experiences of volume, fluidity, and connectivity.  When these are embodied, they illuminate internal relationships and pathways from inner to outer expression, and they create opportunities to re-experience ourselves in familiar forms and structures.

Process: Cells, Breath & Embryology
with Lisa Clark & Amy Matthews; assisted by Julee Snyder
January 5-7 & April 20-22, 2018

at The Dallas Yoga Center, Dallas, TX
Life begins as movement.  From our first moments as two cells, through the whole process of our embryological development and into our adult lives, our cells are breathing and communicating and adapting and responding to each other and their environment.  This cellular activity underlies all our processes of living and is the baseline of our existence.  When we explore re-membering our embryological origins and embodying cellular respiration, we open up new pathways of awareness and shifts in consciousness.

Movement: Fluids & Muscles
with Lisa Clark & Amy Matthews; assisted by Julee Snyder
August 3-5 & November 9-11, 2018

at The Dallas Yoga Center, Dallas, TX
Movement begins in our fluids, and our muscles continue to express that movement throughout our life.  In this course we’ll explore fluids as a body system and their dynamic role in communicating within our tissues to negotiate tone and create change.  With fluids as our ground, we’ll explore muscles as an interdependent whole-body source of strength, mobility, and power that balances action, rest, stillness and presence.

Homeostasis: Endocrine Tissues, Nervous and Immune Systems
with Lisa Clark & Amy Matthews; assisted by Julee Snyder
January 4-6 & April 26-28, 2019

at The Dallas Yoga Center, Dallas, TX
Homeostasis is a dynamic and shifting state of constant communication and inter-responsiveness.  The Endocrine, Nervous and Immune systems play a primary role in shaping and modulating this organism-wide balance.  When we clarify the roles of these systems we begin to unravel commonly held assumptions about specific things like sympathetic/parasympathetic., the role of the pitutary gland, or the idea that immune cells are all about defense , as well as bigger ideas about balancing ‘being and doing’.  Exploring homeostasis can help us understand personal and transpersonal states of consciousness, and change how we perceive ourselves in the moment and in the environment.

Synthesis: Diaphragms, Breath & Sound
with Lisa Clark & Amy Matthews; assisted by Julee Snyder
August 2-4 & October 11-13, 2019

at The Dallas Yoga Center, Dallas, TX
When we look at the interconnectedness of sound, breath and body we find infinite ways to bring potency and vibration into all the body tissues.  Our many diaphragms shape and modulate movement through the body, sounding brings vibration to every cell, and the breath animates and unifies.  Together they create a bridge between our internal experience and the outer environment, and offer whole-body integration, resonance and relatedness.
