Sinead came to yoga from an athletic background of gymnastics and track, as well as a rigorous academic background. As a big “to-do-er” and achiever, discovering the various practices of yoga have led her to a much more sustainable lifestyle for getting things “done” with out having her mind, body, and heart feel DONE!
She is a 200-certified Bija Hot Yoga instructor (with Monica Shannon from Open Door Yoga in Raleigh, 2009), a 200-hr KRI certified Kundalini Yoga instructor (with Hardarshan Khalsa in Chapel Hill, 2012), and completed her certification in Restorative Yoga in February of 2014 with Julee Synder.
Sinead also graduated from UNC with a BA in interdisciplinary studies focused on “the biophysics of preventative medicine”. She has found that yoga, particularly of the Restorative variety, is one of the best “preventative medicines” in her life. To further develop and share these tool of “relaxation as healing” she will begin her masters in Oriental Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, CA this fall.
It is Sinead’s hope to promote body-awareness, self-love, and joy of living by applying an integration of eastern and western medicine, the practices of yoga, qi gong, and Tibetan Buddhist meditation, as well as the creative arts, specifically music and dance.
